Cultural Influences & Artistic Respect

My name is Ioannis Ntizoglou, and I am the sole creator behind all 9000UK releases. I write every lyric, shape every concept, and determine the creative direction of my work. My catalogue spans over 1,600 releases and reflects a broad range of global musical influences, explored not to imitate or appropriate culture, but to express the sounds, emotions, and traditions that have genuinely inspired me.

My music draws influence from genres such as reggae, gospel blues, rap, blues, amapiano, R&B, country, jazz, Latin pop, Latin trap, Afrobeat, and soul. Each of these styles carries its own history, cultural context, and emotional significance. I approach every genre with respect for its origins, its communities, and the traditions that shaped it. My intention is never to claim ownership of these cultural forms, but to acknowledge their foundations while allowing them to inform my own creative voice.

Reggae, in particular, has been one of my strongest musical influences. I fully recognise its roots in Jamaican history and the wider African diaspora, as well as its deep spiritual and cultural significance. Whenever reggae elements appear in my work, they are used with respect for their cultural and spiritual foundations, not as surface-level aesthetics.

My music may also include spiritual or religious references drawn from traditions such as Christianity or Rastafari, including references to Jesus, Jah, or God. These references are used as expressions of admiration, reflection, or artistic inspiration, not as claims of religious authority or representation. I hold respect for all belief systems, and any spiritual language used in my work is intended to honour influence, not to define or appropriate faith.

The same principle applies across all genres I engage with. Gospel blues, rap, R&B, soul, and jazz are rooted in African American cultural history. Amapiano originates from South African musical movements. Afrobeat reflects West African cultural and political expression. Country music is grounded in American folk traditions, while Latin pop and Latin trap carry vibrant Latin American cultural identities. I openly acknowledge these histories and approach them with awareness and humility.

My purpose as an artist is not to overshadow, replace, or redefine any culture. Instead, I create from a place of appreciation, transparency, and creative honesty. Music has always crossed borders, and artistic expression evolves when influences are acknowledged with care rather than exploited.

Through 9000UK, my aim is to contribute positively to the global musical landscape by recognising cultural and spiritual origins, respecting the traditions that inspire me, and expressing my own voice in a way that celebrates diversity, encourages understanding, and unites rather than divides.
